Leer ist der Tag, er geht zu Ende, Fort, heißes, unbarmherziges Licht! Komm, süße Trösterin Nacht und sende Herauf mir mein liebes Traumgesicht. Dann seh' ich ihn wieder mit Entzücken, Den Stern meines Lebens, der mir verblich, Und ich darf an die sehnende Brust ihn drücken, Und es träumet mein Herz, er liebte mich.
