Herauf mir mein liebes Traumgesicht.

The day is empty, it ends
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
The day is empty, it ends,
Away, hot, merciless light!
Come night, sweet comforter, and call forth
For me my dear dream vision.
With rapture then I see him again,
The star of my life who faded for me,
And I may press him to my yearning bosom,
And my heart dreams that he loved me.
His hand so warm, his lips so blissful,
And he speaks it to me, that enchanting word,
His brow so clear, his eyes so sunny,
He carries me off through all the heavens.
