Seid'ne Gewänder, Spangen von Gold -- Kann es nicht ändern, Hab's so gewollt. Bunt sind die Kleider, Falsch das Geschmeid, Falsch meine Liebe, Echt nur mein Leid. Was ist mein Leben? Tolles Gewirr, Lachende Lüge, Schellengeklirr. Keiner hat lieb mich Auf dieser Welt, Tanzen und singen Muß ich für Geld. A mad confusion, Laughing lies, A clattering of bells. No one loves me Upon this earth, I must dance and sing For money.
