Nocturne
Language: English  after the Russian (Русский)
In fragrant springtime
I peer intently into the sky,
When the sea, dormant in the night
Is so beautiful, so peacefully joyful.
When I hear how grass germinates
And how it drinks in the breath of the night,
For you my heart calls,
My eyes see you in everything.
It is as if you were looking [at me] through those stars, like eyes,
It is as if you were breathing with the breath of nature,
Blossoming in the night flowers
And populating both air and waters.
When I hear the sounds of the evening
Which flow and melt in the air,
And mysteriously blend in them
Happiness, torment and peace,
Then it seems that towards me
You fly from afar,
And rushing by - I feel -
You spread fire through my heart.
Tell me, what is so dear
Hidden in this night's sounds and in you,
And what string resonates in them
With my heart, with my destiny?
