In the morning, at daybreak, 
Through the dewy grass, 
I will go to breathe in the fresh morning; 
And in the fragrant shade, 
Where the lilacs cluster, 
I will go to search for my happiness… 

In life there is one happiness 
That is destined for me to find, 
And that happiness lives in the lilacs; 
In the green boughs, 
In the fragrant bunches 
My poor happiness blossoms…
