by Ludvik Władysław Franciszek Kondratowicz (1823 - 1862), as Władysław Syrokomla
Translation by Lev Aleksandrovich Mey (1822 - 1862)

Kak poshjol ja s kazakami
Language: Russian (Русский)  after the Polish (Polski)
Our translations:  FRE
Kak poshjol ja s kazakami,
Ganna govorila:
«Za tebja ja so slezami
Boga umolila:
Ty vernjosh'sja s pervoj bitvy
Vesjol i zdoroz -
Privezi zh mne za molitvy
Nitku korol'kov!»

Bog poslal nam atamana:
Srazu my razbili
V pukh i prakh vse vojsko khana,
Gorod poloni li,
Sbili krepkije vorota -
Pir dlja kazakov!
U menja odna zabota
Nika korol'kov!

Vdrug sama v glaza [sverknula]1
Znat' pomog vsevyshnij -
I sama mne v gorst' jurknula
Aloj, krupnoj vishnej.
Ja dobychu krepko stisnul,
Da i byl takov:
Prjamo k Ganne step'ju svistnul
S nitkoj korol'kov.

I ne sprashival ja broda,
Gati ili mosta...
Zvon u nashego prikhoda;
Ljud valit s pogosta -
I krichit mne vsja gromada
Sotnej golosov:
«Ganna tam - i jej ne nado
Nitki korol'kov!»

Serdce szhalos', zamiraja,
V grudi razdroblennoj,
I upal s konja, rydaja,
Ja [pered]2 ikonoj! o pashchade
Ja molil bez slov
I povesil na oklade
Nitku korol'kov.
