Geh, Geliebter, geh jetzt! Sieh, der Morgen dämmert. Leute gehen schon durch die Gasse, Und der Markt wird so belebt, Daß der Morgen wohl, der blasse, Schon die weißen Flügel hebt. Und vor unsern Nachbarn bin ich Bange, daß du Anstoß giebst: Denn sie wissen nicht, wie innig Ich dich lieb' und du mich liebst. Drum, Geliebter, geh jetzt! Sieh, der Morgen dämmert. Wenn die Sonn' am Himmel scheinend Scheucht vom Feld die Perlen klar, Muß auch ich die Perle weinend Lassen, die mein Reichthum war. Vés-te’n, estimat, vés-te’n ara! Mira, ja es fa de dia. Ja passa gent pel carrer i el mercat es va animant, car prou bé el matí, l’esblaimat, ja aixeca les seves blanques ales. I em fa por que escandalitzis als nostres veïns: car ells no saben com profundament jo t’estimo i tu també m’estimes. Per això, estimat, vés-te’n ara! Mira, ja es fa de dia. Si el sol brillant al cel fa fugir les clares perles de rosada, haig també de deixar anar tot plorant la perla que fou el meu tresor? El que per a altres refulgeix com el dia, per als meus ulls sembla la nit, car l’angoixant separació se’m fa vespre quan l’alba es desperta. Vés-te’n, estimat, vés-te’n ara! Mira, ja es fa de dia. Vols posar arrels fermes, estimat, aquí al meu pit, sense que l’odi envejós, furient, trasbalsi el nostre goig; vols que et pugui veure mil vegades tal com et veig avui, i que sempre et pagui a la vista el deute del nostre amor: vés-te’n, estimat, vés-te’n ara! Mira, ja es fa de dia. Fuig doncs dels meus braços! Car si t’atardes massa temps, el nostre breu moment de passió es podria convertir en un llarg sofriment.
