Spitzgoschete Hechte, Die immerzu fechten, Sind eilend herschwommen, Zu hören den Frommen; [ Kein Predigt niemalen Den Hechten so g'fallen.]2 Auch jene Phantasten, Die immerzu fasten; Die Stockfisch ich meine, Zur Predigt erscheinen; Kein Predigt niemalen Den Stockfisch so g'fallen. Antonio per la predica trova la chiesa vuota! Se ne va ai fiumi e predica ai pesci! Come battono le code! E luccicano al sole! Le carpe con le uova sono accorse tutte, hanno aperto la bocca, avide di ascoltare! Nessuna predica è mai piaciuta tanto ai carpe! I lucci dal muso appuntito, che sempre combattono, sono venuti nuotando in gran fretta, per ascoltare il Pio! [Nessuna predica è mai piaciuta tanto ai lucci!] Anche quei sognatori che digiunano sempre: i merluzzi, dico, sono comparsi alla predica. Nessuna predica è mai piaciuta tanto al merluzzo! Buone anguille e storioni, che partecipano a nobili banchetti, perfino loro si degnano di ascoltare la predica! [Nessuna predica è mai piaciuta tanto ai anguille!] Anche granchi, tartarughe, di solito lente, si affrettano a venire su dal fondo, per ascoltare questa bocca! Nessuna predica è mai piaciuta tanto ai granchi! Pesci grandi, pesci piccoli, pregiati e comuni, alzano le teste come creature intelligenti! Per volontà di Dio ascoltano la predica! Finita la predica, ognuno se ne va. I lucci rimangono ladri, le anguille fanno sempre all'amore, la predica è piaciuta, tutti restano come prima! I granchi camminano all'indietro; i merluzzi rimangono grassi, le carpe mangiano molto, dimenticata la predica! La predica è piaciuta, tutti restano come prima!
