Wir sind durch Not und Freude
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT DUT ENG ENG ENG FRE FRI ITA NOR POL SAN SPA
Wir sind durch Not und Freude
Gegangen Hand in Hand,
Vom Wandern [ruhn wir beide]1
Nun überm stillen Land.

Rings sich die Thäler neigen,
Es dunkelt schon die Luft,
Zwei Lerchen nur noch steigen
Nachträumend in den Duft.

Tritt her, und laß sie schwirren,
Bald ist es [Schlafenszeit]2,
Daß wir uns nicht verirren
In dieser Einsamkeit.

O weiter stiller Friede!
So tief im Abendrot,
Wie sind wir wandermüde --
Ist [das]3 etwa der Tod?

Al tramonto
Language: Italian (Italiano)  after the German (Deutsch)
Attraverso affanni e gioie
abbiamo camminato mano nella mano;
da questo viaggio riposiamo
ora sulla silente terra.

Le valli discendono attorno noi,
già l'aria si abbruna;
solo due allodole ancora salgono,
e sognano nell'aria profumata.

Avvicinati e lasciale frullare;
è tempo di dormire;
non perdiamoci
in questa solitudine!

O vasta e silenziosa pace!
Così profonda al tramonto!
Come siamo stanchi di vagare -
sarà forse questa la morte?
