by Nikolaus Lenau (1802 - 1850)

Blumen, Vögel, duftend, singend
Language: German (Deutsch)
Blumen, Vögel, duftend, singend,
Seid doch nicht so ausgelassen,
Ungestüm ans Herz mir dringend;
Lasst allein mich ziehn die Straßen!

Vieles ist vorübergangen,
Seit wir uns zuletzt begegnet,
Und es hat von meinen Wangen
Meines Glückes Herbst geregnet.

Winter kam hereingeschlichen
In mein Herz, die Tränen starben,
Und schneeweiß sind mir erblichen
Alle grünen Hoffnungsfarben.

Blumen, Vögel, rings im Haine
All ihr frohen Bundgenossen,
Mahnt mich nicht, dass ich alleine
Bin vom Frühling ausgeschlossen!
