Laura biddend! Eng'lenharpen spreiden Gods berusting in haar kranke hart, En, als Abels offergeuren, stijgen Ook haar zuchten op van d' aard. Hoe zij knielt, haar ogen opgeheven, Mooi, zo Raphaël de onschuld maalt, Met de glans van gaafheid reeds omgeven Die om hemelingen straalt. O, zij voelt, in 't zachte, lichte waaien, Blij de godd'lijke aanwezigheid, Ziet de hoogten reeds waar palmen zwaaien, Waar de lichtkrans haar verbeidt.
