Wenn die letzten Blätter fallen, wirst du wohl zum Friedhof geh'n, und in einer dunkeln Ecke wird mein schlichtes Grabkreuz steh'n. Blumen werden dort erblühen, und vielleicht wirst du dich bücken, mit des Herbstes letzten Kindern dir das blonde Haupt zu schmücken. Blumen, meinem Grab entsprossen: Lieder sind's, die ich nicht schrieb, sind die niegesproch'nen Worte meiner stummen, heißen Lieb'.
