Hej, ha mostan hó lehetnék: A szán alatt beroskadnék; Fölfordulna, s kedves babám Még egyszer átkarolhatnám - Átkarolnám, ajakára Csókot nyomnék utójára, S melegétől hű szivének Elolvadnék... úgy halnék meg!

Glatt ist der Schnee, der Schlitten läuft, Zur Trauung wird mein Lieb geschleift, Zur Trauung nach der andern Sinn Muß nun mein armes Liebchen hin. O könnt' ich doch der Schnee jetzt sein! Ich sänke unterm Schlitten ein, Damit ich ihn zu Falle bring', Und einmal noch mein Lieb umschling'; Umschling' und küß' nach Herzenswahl Zum letzten, allerletzten Mal, Und von der Wärme ihrer Brust Zerschmelz' in sel'ger Todeslust.
