Die Erde ist erschlossen, die Blumen sind entsprossen, ringsum hat sich ergossen wonnevoller Blütenduft. Die Täler all erklingen, der Sturm kann nicht mehr zwingen die Vöglein, die sich schwingen jubelnd in die blaue Luft. Die Kälte ist geschwunden, der Mai ist wiederfunden fröhlich in Maienblüten. Winter kalt, dich hüte vor seinem Sonnenscheine! Lass den in Freuden leben, der dir sich ganz ergeben, lebet nur dir alleine, Liebchen, süss, du Eine, mit Treuen ich dich meine.
La terre s'est ouverte, les fleurs ont poussé, tout autour se sont répandus des parfums de fleurs pleins de félicité. Les vallées résonnent toutes, les tempêtes ne peuvent plus contraindre les oiseaux qui s'envolent dans le ciel bleu. Le froid a disparu, le mois de mai est à nouveau présent joyeusement dans les fleurs de mai, Hiver froid, prends garde à l'éclat du soleil de mai ! Qu'il vive dans le bonheur celui qui s'est totalement donné à toi, qui ne vit que pour toi, bien-aimée, douce, unique avec foi je te dis.

Note (provided by Sharon Krebs): Under the poem are the following words: "(Der Sängerknabe übergiebt einen silberbeschlagenen Prachtband.)" This could be translated "(The choirboy presents a luxury-volume embossed with silver.)". The "Sängerknabe" (choirboy) is the little chap who takes the presents from the various singers and places them in front of the bride.
Quand avec les lames allemandes nous portions maints bons coups, le premier de nos chants était dédié à l'empereur et à l'empire. Gloire au seigneur des seigneurs, car de grandes choses sont arrivées ; je vois avec de nouvelles couleurs flottant les bannières de l'empire et à nouveau à côté de l'empereur, fidèlement, le landgrave de Thuringe se tient.
