The moon with her inattentive hands has dropped, from high in the air, her great sequined fan on the blue carpet of the sea. To retrieve it she leans down and stretches her fair silvery arm, but the fan evades her white hand, carried off by a passing wave. To return it to you, oh moon, I would gladly dive into the bitter deep, if you desired to come down from the sky and if I were able to go up!
