La nit a penes s’havia marcit, només una alosa cantava en l’aire silenciós. A qui canta tan aviat? I a fora en el jardí els arbres, per damunt la casa, miraven cap a la terra llunyana, com si esperessin algú. Amb vestimentes festives, com una colla d’infants amb perles de rosada al cabells, s’aixecaven totes les flors. Vaig pensar: vosaltres, petites núvies, qui us ha ornat tant? Llavors una em mirà: “Calla, calla, avui és diumenge. Ja sonen les campanes del matí, el Déu estimat passarà ara aviat pel bosc silenciós.” I s’agenollà alegre i esglaiada.
