by Ludvik Władysław Franciszek Kondratowicz (1823 - 1862)
Translation by Aleksey Nikolayevich Pleshcheyev (1825 - 1893)

Ptichka
Language: Russian (Русский)  after the Polish (Polski)
Our translations:  FRE
Ptichka bozhija prosnulasja s zareju,
A uzh pakharja zastala za sokhoju;
Poletit ona k lazurnym nebesam
I, chto vidit v selakh, vsjo rasskazhet tam.
Skazhet ptichka bogu, chto bednjak stradajet,
Chto krovavym potom nivu oroshajet;
Ne mila, kak ptichke, pakharju vesna,
Ne neset s soboju radostej ona...
Vstretil by on solnce pesenkoj veseloj,
Da molchat' zastavit gnet nuzhdy tjazheloj.
Na serdce zaboty kak svinec lezhat,
Ponevole pesnja ne pojdet na lad.
[Gde tut ljubovat'sja negoj lunnoj nochi, -
Zastilajut slezy truzheniku ochi...]1
Skazhet ptichka bogu, chtob jego ruka
Podderzhala v gor'koj dole bednjaka.
Chtob jemu nesti svoj krest dostalo sily,
Chtob bez ropota dobrel on do mogily.
