Das Schlößlein, das will ich vors Herze mir legen, Und hab' ich's verschlossen mit Kreuz und mit Segen, So werf' in den See ich den Schlüssel hinein, Darf nimmer ein Wort mehr heraus noch herein. Vull posar el petit pany al meu cor, i quan l’hagi tancat, amb el signe de la creu, llançaré la clau al mar, i que no se’n parli mai més. Car qui vol portar al cor un amor sagrat, no ho ha pas de dir a les conques; les espines, els cards, punxen molt, però les llengües de les conques punxen encara més. Elles ho fan saber a les cosines i a les padrines, fins que ho garlen les oques del mercat, fins que els ànecs ho xerren al llac i el cucut al bosc, i això fa molt mal. I si jo fos el Senyor Déu, faria que a la terra les llengües xafarderes es tornessin espines i cards, així els ases se’ls menjarien i no hi hauria més destret, i la meva estimada no tindria els ulls vermells de plorar.
