Da geht durch alle Welt ein Grüßen
Und schwebet [hin]⁴ von Land zu Land
Das ist ein leises Liebesküssen
Das Herz dem Herzen [zugesandt]⁵
Das im Gebete aufwärts steiget
Wie gute Engel, leicht beschwingt
Das sich zum fernen Liebsten neiget
Und süße Schlummerlieder singt.

Und wie es durch die Lande dringet
Da möchte Alles Bote sein
Ein Vogel es dem andern singet
Und alle Bäume rauschen d'rein
Und durch den Himmel geht ein [Winken]⁶
Und auf der Erde nah und fern
Die Ströme heben an zu blinken
Und Stern verkündet es dem Stern.

O Nacht, wo solche Geister wallen
Im [Mondenschein]⁷, auf lauer Luft

O Sommernacht, so reich an Frieden
