La nit és calmada, els carrerons tranquils, en aquesta casa vivia el meu tresor; ella fa temps que marxà de la ciutat, però la casa encara és al mateix lloc. Hi ha també un home que mira enlaire i, de violent dolor, retorça les mans; m'horroritzo quan veig el seu rostre -- la lluna em mostra la meva pròpia figura. Tu, doble meu, tu pàl·lid company!
