Bienheureux le cœur sincère Que rien ne trouble, que rien n'altère, Qui fuit l'impie et le pécheur, Qui marche en paix sous les yeux du Seigneur ! Humble et fervent, il obéit à sa loi. Et jour et nuit trouve son bonheur dans sa foi ! Il est comme le palmier, Sur le bord d'une onde limpide, Donnant ses fruits à qui le premier Y portera sa lèvre avide ! Et quoiqu'il fasse, la mort lui fait grâce ! Mais l'impie et le méchant Ne sont que poussière qui vole au gré du vent ! Dieu, juge implacable, frappera le coupable ! Il étendra sur lui sa main impitoyable Car il est pour tous le Dieu de justice ; Et Dieu veut que le coupable périsse ! Et Dieu veut dans sa justice, Que l'orgueilleux coupable périsse !
