Vous me trouvez la taille fine ?...

Les filles de Cadix aiment assez cela. »
Et nous dansions un boléro
Un soir, c'était dimanche.
Vers nous s'en vint un hidalgo
Cousu d'or, la plume au chapeau,
Et le poing sur la hanche :
« Si tu veux de moi,
Brune au doux sourire,
Tu n'as qu'à le dire,
Cet or est à toi.
-- Passez votre chemin, beau sire...

Wir kamen vom Stierkampf zurück Drei Jungen, drei Mädchen. Auf der Wiese war schönes Wetter, und wir tanzten einen Bolero zum Klang der Kastagnetten: „Sagen Sie mir, Nachbar, sehe ich gut aus und steht mir mein Mieder gut, heute morgen. Finden Sie nicht, dass meine Taille schmal ist? Ah! Ah! Den Mädchen von Cadiz gefiel das gut. Und wir tanzten einen Bolero eines Abends, an einem Sonntag. Uns entgegen kam ein Edelmann goldbestickt, mit einer Feder am Hut, und die Hand an der Hüfte: „Wenn du mich haben willst, Brünette mit dem süßen Lächeln, mußt du es nur sagen, und dieses Gold gehört dir.“ „Gehen Sie Ihres Weges, mein Herr, Ah! Ah! Die Mädchen von Cadiz wollten davon nichts hören!“ Und wir tanzten einen Bolero, am Fuße des Hügels. Da kam Diego des Weges, der nur einen Mantel sein eigen nennt und eine Mandoline: „Du Schöne mit den sanften Augen, möchtest du, dass dich morgen in die Kirche ein eifersüchtiger Liebhaber führt?“ „Eifersüchtig! Eifersüchtig! Was für ein Unsinn! Ah! Ah! Die Mädchen von Cadiz fürchten sich vor diesem Charakterfehler!“
