Schlag' die Tschadra zurück! Was verhüllst du dich? Verhüllt auch die Blume des Gartens sich? Und hat dich nicht Gott, wie der Blume Pracht, Der Erde zur Zierde, zur Schönheit gemacht? Schuf er all' diesen Glanz, diese Herrlichkeit, Zu verblühen in dumpfer Verborgenheit? Schlag' die Tschadra zurück! Laß alle Welt seh'n, Daß auf Erden, wie du Kind, kein Mädchen so schön! Laß die Augen herzündende Funken sprüh'n, Laß die Lippen im rosigen Lächeln glüh'n, Daß dich, Holde, kein anderer Schleier umschwebt, Als mit dem dich das Dunkel der Nächte umwebt! Schlag' die Tschadra zurück!
