Lichtlein schwimmen auf dem Strome
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): CAT ENG FRE ITA
Lichtlein schwimmen auf dem Strome,
Kinder singen auf der Brücken,
Glocke, Glöckchen fügt vom Dome
Sich der Andacht, dem Entzücken.

Lichtlein schwinden, Sterne schwinden;
Also lös'te sich die Seele
Unsres Heil'gen, nicht verkünden
Durft' er anvertraute Fehle.

Lichtlein, schwimmet! spielt ihr Kinder!
Kinderchor, o! singe, singe!
Und verkündiget nicht minder
Was den Stern zu Sternen bringe!

La vigilia di San Nepomuceno
Language: Italian (Italiano)  after the German (Deutsch)
Piccole luci scivolano sul fiume
e, sopra il ponte, bimbi stanno cantando,
mentre dal duomo un suono di campane
si accorda all'estasi di chi sta pregando.

I lumi svaniscono, insieme alle stelle;
e in questo modo anche si disciolse
l'anima del Santo nostro; che non volle
rivelare le colpe apprese in confessione.

Luci, fluttuate! Bambini giocate!
E, uniti in coro, cantate tutti intanto!
E con eguale forza ora annunciate
quello che un'altra stella aggiunge al firmamento.
