Waldesnacht, du wunderkühle
Language: German (Deutsch)

Waldesnacht, du wunderkühle,
Die ich tausend Male grüß',
Nach dem lauten Weltgewühle,
O wie ist dein Rauschen süß!
Träumerisch die müden Glieder
Berg' ich weich [ins]1 Moos,
Und mir ist, als würd' ich wieder
All der irren Qualen los.

Fernes Flötenlied, vertöne,
Das ein weites Sehnen rührt,
Die Gedanken in die schöne,
Ach! mißgönnte Ferne führt.
Laß die Waldesnacht mich wiegen,
Stillen jede Pein!
Und ein seliges Genügen
Saug' ich mit den Düften ein.

In den heimlich engen Kreisen,
Wird dir wohl, du wildes Herz,
Und ein Friede schwebt mit leisen
Flügelschlägen niederwärts.
Singet, holde [Vögellieder]2,
Mich in Schlummer sacht!
Irre Qualen, löst euch wieder;
Wildes Herz, nun gute Nacht!

R. Kahn sets stanzas 1, 3

Nit del bosc, de frescor meravellosa
Language: Catalan (Català)  after the German (Deutsch)
Nit del bosc, de frescor meravellosa,
que jo saludo mil vegades,
desprès del sorollós rebombori del món,
oh, com n'és de dolç el teu mormol!
Somnolent, estenc els meus cansats membres
en la molsa tova,
i és com si de nou em deslliurés
de totes les meves folles angoixes.

Lluny, sona la música d'una flauta
i remou en mi un gran deler,
els pensaments em menen vers la bella,
tan envejada llunyania.
Deixa que la nit del bosc em bressoli
i m'alleugi de totes les penes!
I aspiro una benaurada complaença
junt amb les seves flaires.

En els cercles íntims i secrets
t'hi sentiràs bé, cor neguitós,
i em davalla una pau
amb silenciós aleteig.
Canteu ocells els vostres cants encisadors,
que dolçament em facin adormir!
Folles angoixes, dissipeu-vos de nou,
cor neguitós, a hores d'ara, bona nit!
