Es fiedeln die Geigen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT ENG FRE
Es fiedeln die Geigen,
Da tritt in den Reigen
Ein seltsamer Gast;
Kennt keiner den Dürren,
Galant aus dem Schwirren
Die Braut er sich faßt.

Hebt an, sich zu schwenken
In allen Gelenken.
[Das]1 Fräulein im Kranz:
«Euch knacken die Beine -- »
«Bald rasseln auch deine,
Frisch auf spielt zum Tanz!»

Die Spröde hinterm Fächer,
Der Zecher vom Becher,
Der Dichter so lind.
Muß auch mit zum Tanze,
Daß die Lorbeern vom Kranze
Fliegen im Wind.

So schnurret der Reigen
Zum Saal 'raus ins Schweigen
Der prächtigen Nacht;
Die Klänge verwehen,
Die Hähne schon krähen,
Da verstieben sie sacht. --

So [gings schon]2 [vor Zeiten]3
[Und]4 geht es noch heute,
Und [hörest]5 du hell
Aufspielen zum Reigen,
Wer weiß, wem sie geigen, --
[Hüt]6 dich, Gesell !

Toquen els violins
Language: Catalan (Català)  after the German (Deutsch)
Add this translation to your Reprint Basket
Toquen els violins,
quan un estrany convidat
s'uneix al ball;
ningú coneix l'home escardalenc,
que, galant enmig de la gatzara,
s'agafa a la núvia.

Comença a bellugar-se
amb tot el cos.
La núvia amb la corona li diu::
«Us cruixen les cames--»
«Prou aviat les teves també faran soroll,
endavant, toqueu per al ball!»

L'esquerpa darrere el ventall,
el bevedor darrere la seva copa,
el poeta tan gentil,
també han d'unir-se al ball,
de manera que els llorers de la corona
voleïn al vent.

Així la dansa serpenteja
fora de la sala vers el silenci
de l’esplèndida nit;
els sons s'esvaeixen,
els galls ja canten,
i així desapareixen poc a poc en un núvol de pols. --

Així era en els temps antics
i així roman avui encara,
i si sents clarament
la música que sona per al ball,
qui sap per a qui toquen, --
ves en compte, amic meu!
