I encara que hi hagi moltes rates i encara que hi hagi mosteles entre elles, deixaré aquest lloc ben net, n'hauran de marxar totes plegades. Però aquest benhumorat cantant de tant en tant també caça nens, als més entremaliats pot guanyar-se tot cantant els seus contes màgics. I encara que els nens siguin rebels, i encara que les nenes siguin porugues, quan faci sonar les meves cordes m'hauran de seguir tots. I aquest hàbil cantant de vegades caça donzelles; no arriba mai a una ciutat que no hi encanti unes quantes. I encara que les noies siguin tímides, i encara que les dones siguin esquerpes, totes cauen enamorades quan senten les meves cançons màgiques.
