La poncella somiava en la llum del sol, en la remor de les fulles al verd boscatge, en el melodiós saltant de les ones a la font, en les dolces tonades del rossinyol, en els ventijols que acaronen i bressolen. I quan la poncella es despertà com una rosa rigué gentilment entre llàgrimes i esguardà i escoltà al voltant com tot resplendia i ressonava, com tot flairava i mormolava. Llavors, quan els seus somnis esdevingueren realitat, tremolà d’un dolç embadaliment i fluixet xiuxiuejà: em sembla ben bé com si tot això ja ho hagués viscut.
