Maint voleur te suit, La chose est, la nuit, Commune. Les dames des bois Nous gardent parfois Rancune. Elles vont errer: Crains d'en rencontrer Quelqu'une. Zu Sonnenuntergang, du, der auf der Suche ist nach dem Glück, hüte dich vor einem Sturz; gen Abend ist die Erde dunkel. Das trügerische Meer legt Nebel auf die Dünen. Schau, am Horizont kein einziges Haus, keines! Manch ein Dieb folgt dir, was üblich ist zur Nacht. Die Waldfrauen hegen zuweilen einen Groll gegen uns. Sie werden umherschweifen: fürchte dich davor, einer zu begegnen. Die Kobolde der Lüfte werden im Mondenschein tanzen.
