Feast at the Pavillion of the Tao Family
Language: English  after the Chinese (中文)
A winding path leads to the secluded man’s mansion,
the tall gates of which indicate great wealth.
The pond’s water is so clean and reflective, just like a mirror,
while beautiful flowers blossom nearby making people smile.
The green pondwater captures the springtime sun,
the dark pavilion under the sunset shines beautifully.
Anyone who hears the fabulous music from the family-owned band,
won’t ever praise that of the Gold Valley of Shi Chong anymore.
Translator's Note: “Gold Valley of Shi Chong" is a literary quotation - Shi Chong was a very rich person who had a luxury garden in a place called Gold Valley. So in the poem, the music from the hermit’s mansion is so good that even the music from Gold Valley can’t compare.
