El verd colibrí, el rei dels turons, veient la rosada i el sol clar, lluir en el seu niu teixit amb herbes fines, s’escapa per l’aire com un fresc raig, s’apressa i vola a les fonts veïnes, on els bambús fan el soroll del mar, on el roig hibisc d’olors divins s’obre i porta al cor un humit centelleig. Cap a la flor daurada, baixa i es posa, i beu tant d’amor en la copa rosa que mor, sense saber si l’ha poguda esgotar! Sobre el teu llavi pur, oh estimada, igual la meva ànima ha volgut morir, del primer bes que l’ha perfumat.
