Car de mestres ja n’hi ha massa; si un munt d’ells en caigués, com, a nosaltres els aprenents, ens empiparien tots aquests mestres malgrat les nostres obres mestres. “Del cel no cau cap mestre!” Gràcies a Déu, tampoc cap mestressa! Oh cel benigne, sigues bondadós, si allà dalt n’hi ha una que botzina, guarda-la en la teva gràcia, perquè per fer-nos mal no caigui a la terra! “Del cel no cau cap mestre!” Tampoc cap filla d’un mestre! Prou que ho sé de fa molt temps i, tanmateix, seria un gran goig si una noia jove, formosa i alegre caigués del cel i volgués ser la meva estimada! “Del cel no cau cap mestre!” Això em reconforta en aquest món; i per això vull esdevenir un mestre, i si se m’ofereix una dona, llavors aquesta terra seria per a mi un cel del qual no en cauria cap mestre.
