Still, wie still ‑‑ 's ist Mitternacht...
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT
Still, wie still -- 's ist Mitternacht schon,
Drunten beim Fenster duftet der Mohn,
Duftet so leise, du merkst es kaum,
Schläfert mein Kind in tiefen Traum4.

Liese, kleine Liese, thu's Beinchen hinein,
Guckt durch das Fenster der Mondenschein,
Sagt es den Bäumen, die draußen stehn,
Daß er dein nackendes Beinchen gesehn.

Früh, wenn der Wind kommt, schwatzen sie's aus,
Hört es der Spatz und die Katz' aus dem Haus;
Lachen die Blumen alle so sehr,
Weil unsre Liese ein Strampelchen wär'.
