[da war]1 einmal ein braves Huhn,
das legte, wie die Hühner tun,
an jedem Tag ein Ei

Es war ein Teich dabei.
Darin ein braver Karpfen saß,
der stillvergnügt sein Futter fraß,

Da sprach der Karpfen: "Ei!
Alljährlich leg ich 'ne Million
und rühm mich des mit keinem Ton.

was gäb's für ein Geschrei!"
