des Sommermondes sanfter Schein,
und um des Lebens Last zu fliehn,
möcht ich in deinem Licht versunken sein. 

Gewes’ner Schmerz alsbald verfliegt,
wenn du, mein Lieb,
mein traurig Herz und mein Gemüt
in deinen lieben Armen birgst. 

Du legst mein leidend’ Haupt
so manches Mal auf deinen Schoß,
erzählst mir ein Gescheh'n, von dem man glaubt,
es gliche unser beider Los; 

aus deinen Augen, voller Traurigkeit,
aus diesen Augen schlürf ich dann
