Um keinen vom Schlummer zu wecken.
Kaum murmelt der Bach, kaum zittert im Wind
Ein Blatt an den Büschen und Hecken.
Drum leise, mein Mädchen, daß [nichts sich]1 regt,
Nur leise die Hand auf die Klinke gelegt.

Mit Tritten, wie Tritte der Elfen so sacht,
[Die über die Blumen]2 hüpfen,
Flieg leicht hinaus in die Mondscheinnacht,
[Zu]3 mir in den Garten zu schlüpfen.
Rings schlummern die Blüten am rieselnden Bach

Obre, obre, però sense fer fressa, nineta meva,
per no despertar ningú del seu son,
a penes mormola el rierol, a penes tremola
una fulla als matossars i als barders.
Per això, sense fer fressa, nineta meva, perquè res es bellugui,
posa suaument la mà al pestell.

Amb passos, tan suaus com els passos dels elfs
quan saltironegen damunt les flors,
vola lleugera cap enfora, a la nit del clar de lluna,
per esquitllar-te al jardí, al meu costat.
Tot a l’entorn, dormen les flors prop del rierol que corre
i flairegen en el son, tan sols vetlla l’amor.

Seu, aquí clareja misteriosament
sota els til•lers,
el rossinyol, damunt els nostres caps,
somiarà amb les nostres besades,
i la rosa, quan al matí es desperti,
envermellirà pel tremor de voluptat de la nit.
