Still, wie still ‑‑ 's ist Mitternacht...
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT
Still, wie [still]1 -- 's ist Mitternacht schon,
Drunten [beim Fenster]2 duftet der Mohn,
Duftet so leise, [du merkst]3 es kaum,
Schläfert [mein Kind in tiefen Traum]4.

Liese, kleine Liese, thu's Beinchen [hinein]5,
[Guckt]6 durch das Fenster der Mondenschein,
Sagt es den [Bäumen]7, die draußen stehn,
Daß er dein [nackendes]8 Beinchen gesehn.

Früh, wenn der Wind kommt, schwatzen sie's aus,
Hört es der Spatz und die Katz' [auf]9 dem Haus;
Lachen die Blumen [alle so]10 sehr,
[Weil]11 unsre Liese ein Strampelchen wär'.
