En als ik dan voortrij, dan rijden Reeds mijn gedachten vooruit; Zij voeren mij licht en luchtig Naar ‘t huis toe van mijn bruid. De honden blaffen, de knechten Verschijnen met brandende kaars; De wenteltrap op storm ik Met rink’lend spoor aan mijn laars. In ‘t schitt’rend boudoir met tapijten, Daar is het zo geurig en warm, Daar wacht op mij mijn beminde, Ik werp mij meteen in haar arm. Gesuizel van wind in de blaad’ren, Daar spreekt de eikenboom: “Wat wil je, onwijze ruiter, Toch met je onwijze droom?”
