Liebestrunken

Im Garten des Palastes streift der Wind
Mit weichem Anhauch über Lotosblumen.
Auf der Terrasse, wohlig hingestreckt
In bunte Seidenkissen, ruht der König.
Vor ihm tanzt Si-Schy, funkelnd wie die Sterne,
Schön wie die Schönheit selber, schwebt und schwebt 
Und lächelt, lächelt, wunderbar zu schauen,
Bis daß ein süß-begehrliches Ermatten
In ihre Glieder sinkt; die Hüften wiegen 
Sich nun nicht mehr; die kleinen Füße ruhn, --
Und schmachtend lehnt sie an den Jaderand,
Den schimmernden, des königlichen Lagers.

Die holde Si-Schy, schmachtend lehnt sie da...
