Wie mit innigstem Behagen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Available translation(s): CAT DUT ENG FRE ITA
Wie mit innigstem Behagen,
Lied, empfind' ich deinen Sinn,
Liebevoll du scheinst zu sagen,
Daß ich ihm zur Seite bin;

Daß er ewig mein gedenket,
Seiner Liebe Seligkeit,
Immerdar der Fernen schenket,
Die ein Leben ihm geweiht.

Ja, mein Herz es ist der Spiegel,
Freund, worin du dich erblickt,
Diese Brust, wo deine Siegel
Kuß auf Kuss hereingedrückt.

Süßes Dichten, lautre Wahrheit,
Fesselt mich in Sympathie,
Rein verkörpert Liebesklarheit
Im Gewand der Poesie!

Canzone di Suleika
Language: Italian (Italiano)  after the German (Deutsch)
Con quale intimo e segreto piacere
comprendo, o canto, il tuo significato,
pieno d'amore tu sembri raccontare
che io sono ancora rimasta al suo fianco;

Che vola a me in eterno ogni suo pensiero,
e che la gioia del suo amore sincero,
egli dona per sempre alla sua lontana amica
che a lui ha consacrato tutta la sua vita.

Sì! Il mio cuore resta lo specchio,
dove, amico mio, puoi rimirarti adesso,
ed è su questo seno, che il tuo sigillo
bacio su bacio sempre rimane impresso.

I dolci versi, verità decantata,
mi avvincono in simpatia!
Di purezza intessuto, un amore sincero,
in veste di poesia!
