Nun liegt die Welt im Traume
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Azerbaijani (Azərbaycan dili)
Available translation(s): ENG
[Nun]1 liegt die Welt im Traume,
Berauscht von Glanz und Duft --
Kein Blatt regt sich am Baume,
Kein Vöglein in der Luft.

Die müden Sterne neigen
Zur Ruh' schon ihren Lauf,
Doch mir im Herzen steigen
Noch schön're Sterne auf.

Was mir der Tag beschieden,
Ward sorglos nie vollbracht,
Doch selig ist der Frieden
Der stillen heiligen Nacht!

The world now lies dreaming
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
The world [now]1 lies dreaming,
Intoxicated with radiance and scent --
No leaf moves upon the tree,
No bird [moves] in the air.

The weary stars are already
Wending their way to rest,
But in my heart there arise
Even more beautiful stars.

That which the day presented to me
Was never accomplished without anxieties,
But blessed is the peace
Of the quiet, holy night!
