Chœur Le vieux l'avait hurlé, le ciel l'a entendu, Les murs sont écroulés, les salles sont détruites, Une haute colonne témoigne encore de cette splendeur disparue, Celle-ci aussi, déjà fendue, va basculer dans la nuit. Et alentour, au lieu de jardins odorants, une lande déserte, Pas un arbre ne répand son ombre, pas une source ne jaillit des sables, Le nom du roi n'est mentionné dans aucun chant, aucun récit héroïque ; Disparu et oublié !
