Note: in an earlier publication of the text, Mancherlei Gaben und ein Geist, homiletische Vierteljahrschrift, dritter Jahrgang, Wiesbaden: Julius Riedner, 1863, page 24, the line-breaks were slightly different and there was an error on the first line of the poem ("verklingen" was incorrectly given as "erklingen").
