Die Mondesschimmer fliegen, Als [seh']3 ich unter mir Das Schloß im Thale liegen, [Und ist]4 doch so weit von hier! Sento mormorare i ruscelli, qua e là nel bosco. Nel bosco, nel mormorio, non so dove sono. Gli usignoli cantano qui nella solitudine, come se volessero raccontare del bel tempo passato. Lo splendore della luna vola, come se vedessi sotto di me il castello giù nella valle, ed è tanto lontano! Come se nel giardino pieno di rose bianche e rosse la mia amata dovesse aspettarmi, ed è morta da tanto tempo.
