Els diumenges de matinada que bonic és passejar a la vora del Rin, quan tot a l'entorn sonen les campanes del matí! Una barqueta avança per l'aigua blava, a dintre s'hi canta i es gauba; barqueta, digues, oi que dóna gust viatjar amb tota aquesta alegrança? Del vilatge ressona un orgue tocant una cançó pietosa, allà surt la processó devotament de la capella. I sever, amb tota la seva grandesa, el castell esguarda cap baix i parla del vell bon temps quan fou construït damunt la roca. Tot això acabala l'esplèndid Rin a les seves ribes plenes de vinyes i, en la llum més brillant, emmiralla amb raó tota la pàtria. La pàtria devota i fidel en tota la seva glòria, amb joies i cants de tota mena per el bon Déu és contemplada.
