Nur wer die Leier schon hob auch unter Schatten darf das unendliche Lob ahnend erstatten. Nur wer mit Toten vom Mohn aß, von dem ihren, wird nicht den leisesten Ton wieder verlieren. Mag auch die Spieglung im Teich oft uns verschwimmen: Wisse das Bild. Erst in dem Doppelbereich werden die Stimmen ewig und mild.

Seul celui qui aussi a déjà levé sa lyre parmi les ombres peut s'attendre à en rembourser la louange illimitée. Seul celui qui avec les morts a mangé le pavot, du leur, plus jamais ne perdra la moindre note. Le miroitement sur l'étang peut aussi souvent nous embrouiller : Connais l'image. C'est juste dans un monde double que les voix seront éternelles et douces.
