Но не собрать мне его, не скрепить; я не знаю,

Рано еще? Как предутренний час ждет рассвета,
бледный от прожитой ночи, жду я тебя;
и, как театр переполненный ждет, чтоб явился актер,
так и лицо мое, настежь раскрытое,
жаждет явленья любимой. О, размечтался
я, как залив об открытом
море, и свет маяка мной играет;
или как ложе реки в пустыне мечтает о ливне,
или как узник безвинный недвижно ответа
ждет от звезды одинокой, глядящей в окошко;
или как тот, что
наземь бросает привычный костыль свой и после,
у алтаря распростертый, упрямо ждет чуда;
так вот и я: не придешь ты, так здесь я и кончусь.

Только тебя я и жажду. Трава на панели,
хилая, разве и знать не должна о весенних желаньях?
Как запретите ей чувствовать вместе с землею?
А месяц, чтоб в сельском пруде отразиться,
разве не ждет появленья далеких созвездий? И как
может свершиться даже ничтожное, если навстречу
вся совокупность грядущего не устремляется к нам?

Ты ж, несказанная, в нем. Быть может, одно лишь мгновенье —
и не смогу устоять. Состарюсь, или. меня
дети прочь оттеснят...
