Language: German (Deutsch)  after the French (Français)
Available translation(s): CAT DUT ENG FRE GRE IRI
Da nachts wir uns küßten, o Mädchen,
hat keiner uns zugeschaut.
Die Sterne, die standen am Himmel,
wir haben den Sternen getraut.

Es ist ein Stern gefallen,
der hat dem Meer uns verklagt,
da hat das Meer es dem Ruder,
das Ruder dem Schiffer gesagt.

Da sang [der selbige]1 Schiffer
es seiner Liebsten vor.
Nun singen's auf Straßen und Märkten
die [Knaben und Mädchen]2 im Chor.3

R. Schumann sets stanzas 1-3

Tajna
Language: Russian (Русский)  after the German (Deutsch)
Kogda menja v usta i oči ty,
milyj drug moj, celoval,
odni sverkali svezdy noči...
Kto ž našu tajnu rasskazal?

V tu noč' zvezda odna upala
i v morja temnoj glubine
pro našu tajnu prošeptala
srebrosverkajuščej volne.

Volna veslu progovorilas',
podslušal tajnu u besla
plovec, v nëm krov' zabilas'...
I tajnav zvuki perelilas',
i v gromkoj pesne ožila.

On pel, ego napevu
vnimala milaja ne raz,
s tech por i junoši,
i devy vse pesnju
tu pojut pro nas.
