Eine starke, schwarze Barke segelt trauervoll dahin. Die vermummten und verstummten Leichenhüter sitzen drin. Toter Dichter, stille liegt er, mit entblößtem Angesicht; seine blauen Augen schauen immer noch zum Himmelslicht. Aus der Tiefe klingts, als riefe eine kranke Nixenbraut, und die Wellen, sie zerschellen an dem Kahn, wie Klagelaut.
