Mir träumte einst ein schöner Traum: Mich liebte eine blonde Maid; Es war am grünen Waldesraum, Es war zur warmen Frühlingszeit: Die Knospe sprang, der Waldbach schwoll, Fern aus dem Dorfe scholl Geläut -- Wir waren ganzer Wonne voll, Versunken ganz in Seligkeit. Und schöner noch als einst [im]1 Traum Begab es sich in Wirklichkeit -- Es war am grünen Waldesraum, Es war zur warmen Frühlingszeit: Der Waldbach schwoll, die Knospe sprang, Geläut erscholl vom Dorfe her -- Ich hielt dich fest, ich hielt dich lang -- Und lasse dich nun nimmermehr! Una vegada vaig tenir un bonic somni: m’estimava una donzella rossa; era a la verda clariana del bosc, era al càlid temps de primavera: les poncelles florien, el rierol creixia fort, del poble, lluny, se sentia el repic de campanes – estàvem plens de voluptat, del tot immersos en l’èxtasi. I, un dia, encara més bonic que el somni fou el que s’esdevingué en realitat – era a la verda clariana del bosc, era al càlid temps de primavera: el rierol creixia fort, les poncelles florien, del poble se sentia repic de campanes – jo t’abraçava fort durant molta estona i no et deixava marxar! Oh verda clariana del bosc! Tot el temps et tinc present en mi – allà la realitat esdevingué somni, allà el somni esdevingué realitat!
