Vine, conhort del món, tu nit silenciosa!
Que plàcida davalles de les muntanyes,
tots els ventijols dormen,
tan sols un mariner, cansat del viatge,
canta la seva cançó del vespre vers el mar,
a la lloança de Déu, des del port.

Els anys passen com els núvols
i em deixen aquí solitari,
el món s’ha oblidat de mi,
aleshores vingueres tu, meravellosa,
quan jo aquí, a la remor del bosc,
seia pensívol.

Oh, conhort del món, tu nit silenciosa!
El dia m’ha fatigat tant,
l’ampli mar s’enfosqueix,
deixa que reposi del goig i de la pena,
fins que l’aurora eterna
faci resplendir el bosc silenciós.
